Please prayerfully consider joining the 2+2=More prayer link.

The goal of the 2+2=More Prayer Link is to have every church praying for two other churches and have two churches praying for them. In 1 Corinthians 12, the Apostle Paul exhorts us that all the parts of the body should have equal concern for each other. Praying for each other is a simple and yet powerful way for churches to show concern for the other parts of the body. As we cover each other in prayer, we can expect to see more unity among churches, more of God’s power at work in our midst, and more impact for God’s glory in our Region.

The main emphasis as churches pray for each other is praying for churches to have a Kingdom impact as the people of the church live out God’s calling for their lives. Each church should select a verse or short passage to be prayed over them by the other churches. Each church could also ask prayer for one key area of growth (examples: increased engagement in corporate prayer times, greater heart for evangelism, increase in community service, more small groups, etc.). Each church would have a contact person for the prayer link, so that churches could make occasional, applicable corporate prayer requests of their partner churches (for example if they were running a special outreach event). Each church would be free to organize praying for its partner churches in whatever way makes sense in the context of its structure.

Getting churches praying for each other will be invaluable in building unity and opening our eyes to what God is doing all across the Region. We are each called to do our part and to have equal concern for all the parts of the body. It will be amazing to have churches of different sizes and traditions praying for each other and churches from different cities praying for each other, as we invite God in to lead everything that is happening across the Region.

The 2+2=More Prayer link launched in October of 2018 with ten churches across Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge. The goal is to see all of the churches across Waterloo Region connected and praying for one another.
